I spent the past weekend in a very chilly Manhattan, where I was attending a workshop at the International Center of Photography.  Traversing the island with a camera is one of the most sublime joys in life, so although the fingertip-numbing temperatures slowed me down a bit, they did not deter me from my experiments to see and capture the world through my lens.

On this trip I focused on the graceful architecture and forms of the Upper East Side. From Central Park to the sensual, sloping spiral of the Guggenheim, I found plenty to re-engage and re-inspire.  And this time, I took advantage of the clear evening weather for take-off and landing to document the striking beauty of NY and my home, Washington DC, from the air.  Perhaps you will find something among these images to move you, too.
